In Partnership with UK Virtual School, this year’s Science Weeks are running from:
WEEK 1: iGCSE SCIENCE WEEK: Tues 24th to Fri 27th March 2026
AND
WEEK 2: PRIMARY WEEK: Mon 30th March to Thur 2nd April 2026

Secondary Science Week (Core Practical Focus)

During Secondary Science Week, students will take part in subject-specific workshops, hands-on experiments and GCSE-focused core practicals that follow the Pearson Edexcel iGCSE Specifications. The week is designed to deepen subject knowledge, support exam preparation, and inspire future STEM pathways.

Primary Science Week

Primary Science Week will be packed with exciting Easter-themed experiments, chocolate investigations, and egg-citing demonstrations designed to spark curiosity and bring science to life. A fun and festive week of discovery awaits!

(UKVS Week 4)
March 24-27 | Tuesday - Friday
Highly suitable for Yr 9 - 11
Pre-reading materials will be provided, making it accessible to Yr 7 & 8 (though they may find it challenging, we'll be open to keen Yr7&8 students)
IGCSE focused core practicals following the Pearson Edexcel Specifications, data collection and skills
Each session will be 4 hours long, starting from 11 am to 3 pm, with different themes each day. There will also be evening social activities to unwind and bond with other families.

Each session will be 2.5 hours long, running from 11am to 1:30pm and 2-4:30pm. The sessions are self-paced, repeated twice a day with Easter-inspired themes. We only have limited spaces, so hurry and book your spot!

Both Primary and GCSE Science Week will be held at Femtinos Learning Hub
The hub is located a few miles from Birmingham City Centre, the perfect location for those travelling from out of city, yet great for locals too!
Free parking at:
Victoria Common Car Park (literally 1 min walk from the building).
Please check the closing times for the car park as they vary throughout the year.
By Train:
Trains from New Street Station are every 20min towards Redditch.

The event is open to all Home Educators, but we are releasing the tickets first to UKVS families (and any friends you may wish to forward this to!)

To make this event possible, we partnered with Femtinos.
Femtinos is a provider of creative, educational, fun and interactive STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics)
workshops and courses for children aged 5 to 14 years old in the Birmingham region and nationally. In our 16th year now, we have supported the learning of over 14,000 children and participants, including home educated children. We have also developed two exciting new programmes called “Little Speakers Club” and “Code Club”

All ticket bookings are final and non-refundable. This applies even if your child is unable to attend one or more sessions.
- We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule sessions if necessary. We also reserve the right to make necessary changes to advertised content if more appropriate for the group
- In the event of a cancellation or rescheduling, we will make every effort to inform you as soon as possible.
- For cancellations, a refund will be issued. Please ensure you have the ability to cancel your accomoodation at least one week prior to the week
We reserve the right to decline any booking at our discretion. If a booking is declined, we are not obligated to provide a reason. If we decline your booking after payment, your tickets will be refunded.
- These are drop off sessions but parents are welcome to stay onsite and bring a laptop or book.
- If your child has SEN needs and requires the comfort of having a parent present, we may request you stay until they are settled.
- We will not be able to have children onsite more than 15min before the start of a session. Please ensure you do not arrive earlier than this.
- Parents and guardians must pick up children promptly at the end of each session. We are not able to have children onsite after the set times.
